Vancouver Area Mountain Trails- Lindsay Lake
Lindsay Lake: Elevation 1160 meters (3793 feet)
Approximately 35 KM (22 miles) from Vancouver, British Columbia. Hiking time round trip- 6 to 7 hrs.
Round trip roughly 15KM (9.3 miles), elevation gain-1020M (3335 feet). Best time is usually July to October.
Directions: From Vancouver drive to Port Moody, turn north onto Ioco Road and drive to Buntzen Lake. Watch for the Buntzen
Lake signs that assist in finding the route. Turn into the parking lot and park near the entrance. Walk back to the parking
lot entrance. A short distance along Power House Road heading North there is a trail map. The trail head for the Halvor Lunden
trail which leads to Lindsay Lake starts here. The trail starts with a steep climb up the mountain. Part way up is
Polytrichum Lookout which provides a good view of Buntzen Lake. A bit further up the trail comes out onto relatively flat
ground. Here the trail winds through a mix of forest, meadows and past a number of small but scenic lakes on the way to
Lindsay Lake.
