Approximately 190 KM (118 miles) from Vancouver, British Columbia. Hiking time round trip- 6 to 7 hrs. Round trip roughly 11KM (6.8 miles), elevation gain-360M (1177 feet). Best time is usually July to October. This well travelled trail passes by a series of mountain lakes and ends with a climb to the foot of a spectacular glacier.
Directions: From Vancouver drive north on the Sea to Sky Highway to Pemberton. At the junction before Pemberton turn east and drive to Mount Currie which is about 7KM (4.4 miles) from the junction. At Mount Currie turn right onto Highway 99 to Lillooet. Drive approximately 30KM (18.6 miles) on highway 99. On the right there is a parking lot for the Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. In the parking lot there is a large map of the Joffre Lakes trail. The trail follows Joffre Creek and passes by three very scenic lakes. The last lake is located below Matier Glacier. From this lake one can climb up to the head of the glacier.
