Penticton Mountain Trails- Giant's Head by Summerland

Giant's Head: Elevation 836 meters (2735 feet)

Approximately 18 KM (11 miles) from Penticton, British Columbia. Hiking time round trip- 1 to 2 hrs from base of mountain. Round trip roughly 3.7KM (2.3 miles), elevation gain-286M (945 feet). Best time is usually May to October.

Directions: From Penticton drive north on highway 97 towards Summerland. At Summerland turn left off highway 97 (west) onto Prairie Road. Then turn left onto Giant's Head Road. This road climbs through a sub division. Watch for a road on the left that heads up the mountain. Once this road is found one has a choice of parking near the start of this narrow road or driving to the parking lot a short distance from the summit. The hike from the parking lot to the summit is short but very scenic. If one parks near the start of this road the hike is much longer and provides a good workout as it is a steep climb. The trail description provided here is from the base.
